Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Davids (ranked 4417 p4p, 364 weight class) and Steve Gudmundsson (ranked 4729 p4p, 397 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Gudmundsson! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gudmundsson scores with a one two! Davids had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Davids tries to clinch up but Gudmundsson circles away and keeps his distance. Davids misses with a combination
and Gudmundsson counters with a one-two to the body. Davids darts in trying to clinch and Gudmundsson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Davids is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gudmundsson.
It looks like Frankie Davids has been cut. Frankie Davids seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gudmundsson closes the distance and clinches. Davids manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horrible takedown attempt by Davids or perhaps it was just good defense by Gudmundsson, which made it look bad. Gudmundsson was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Gudmundsson connects with a leg kick. Davids looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Davids throws the left hand but Gudmundsson avoids the punch easily. Davids could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Davids wants to clinch but Gudmundsson slips to the side and Gudmundsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gudmundsson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Davids tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Davids throws a leg kick and Gudmundsson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Gudmundsson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Davids throws a head kick but Gudmundsson moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gudmundsson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. This has been an exciting period of action! Thud! ouch! good body kick from Gudmundsson - that will leave a mark!
Gudmundsson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Davids misses with a takedown attempt letting Gudmundsson counter with a right hand. Gudmundsson works over Davids's head and body with a nice combination. Davids swings for the body but Gudmundsson moves out of range.
Davids shoots in for a takedown but Gudmundsson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankie Davids. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gudmundsson forces Davids back against the cage and clinches. Gudmundsson scores a nice knee to the body.
Davids is breathing heavily. Gudmundsson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Davids closes the distance looking to clinch and Gudmundsson counters with a series of strikes. Davids will be more careful next time no doubt. Davids fails with the takedown and Gudmundsson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Both fighters circling a little - Gudmundsson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Davids is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gudmundsson. Davids shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Davids wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gudmundsson keeps working. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gudmundsson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Davids. Davids decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Davids has a takedown stuffed. Davids is looking to clinch. Davids tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gudmundsson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gudmundsson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Frankie Davids is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Davids dives in for a single leg takedown but Gudmundsson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Davids shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gudmundsson but Gudmundsson pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankie Davids. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gudmundsson feints a jab promting Davids to slip. Gudmundsson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Davids slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Gudmundsson connects with a leg kick. Davids looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davids drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Gudmundsson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Davids has his takedown stuffed and Gudmundsson counters with a stiff right hand. Gudmundsson scores with a one two! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gudmundsson stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

And Gudmundsson tries to counter it with a takedown but Davids pushes his down on his head and steps out. Davids gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Davids takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gudmundsson rushes Davids and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gudmundsson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gudmundsson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Davids. Gudmundsson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Danga de danga de dang - Gudmundsson scores with a four punch combination! Gudmundsson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davids shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Davids was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gudmundsson tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Davids easily slips into full mount! Gudmundsson is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gudmundsson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davids. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Davids controlling from the full mount. Gudmundsson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Davids is working for a kimura but Gudmundsson is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davids is trying to control the action in half guard but Gudmundsson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gudmundsson tries to get to full guard but Davids has control of the leg. Davids decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Gudmundsson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Frankie Davids's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Davids throws a series of punches but Gudmundsson moves out of range. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gudmundsson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Gudmundsson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Davids looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Gudmundsson unleashes a big counter combination but Davids bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Jab from Gudmundsson.

Gudmundsson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Steve Gudmundsson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Davids darts in looking for a takedown but Gudmundsson gets double underhooks and turns Davids into the cage. Gudmundsson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Davids defends it well. Gudmundsson moves into the clinch successfully.
Davids breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gudmundsson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Davids eats them both and turns towards Gudmundsson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Gudmundsson moves in looking to clinch but Davids pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gudmundsson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gudmundsson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Gudmundsson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Davids has his takedown stuffed and Gudmundsson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davids has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Gudmundsson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Frankie Davids has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gudmundsson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Gudmundsson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that's the end of the fight! Steve Gudmundsson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Gudmundsson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Steve Gudmundsson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
