Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Batista Salgado (ranked 5039 p4p, 0 weight class) and Za Beast (ranked 4867 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rogerio Batista Salgado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Za Beast!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast avoids the head kick by Salgado.
Beast wants to clinch.
Beast takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Salgado connects with a high kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beast throws a head kick but Salgado moves out of range.
Beast throws a leg kick that misses.
Salgado throws a quick counter head kick but Beast was just out of range.

Beast shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Beast showed some decent athleticism there.
Salgado scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Beast manages to mount him!

Salgado can't escape the position.

Beast goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Salgado turns into him and now he's in Beast's guard.

Salgado postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Beast is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Salgado, into his guard.

Beast controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beast postures up and lands a big shot to Salgado's brow.
Beast is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Salgado looking for a sweep. Not yet Salgado, not yet.
Beast engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Beast chips away with some ground and pound.
Beast seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Salgado wants to stand but Beast is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Beast gets to his feet. Salgado looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Beast throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Beast darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Beast lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Salgado wants to improve his position but Beast is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Za Beast dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Salgado scores with a head kick. Beast tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Salgado fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Salgado.
Salgado throws a head kick that Beast semi-blocks.
The fight stays on the outside here - Beast looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Beast scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Salgado knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beast on the ground.
Beast looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ground and pound from Beast.

Beast lands strikes from half guard.
Salgado wants to get back to full guard.
Beast working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Beast content to control rather than advance.
Let's hope that Beast has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Beast wants to pass to mount but Salgado is defending the position.
Za Beast has got the better of the ground game so far.

Salgado actively working from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beast moves nicely into side control.
Beast looks up at the clock and then as Salgado takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Beast smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Beast working away.
Beast advances to full mount.

Beast has control of Salgado's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Salgado regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Beast has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Beast raining down hammerfists from mount.

Beast stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Beast throws a sloppy head kick and Salgado moves out of range easily.
Salgado thumps Beast with a low kick.
Beast wants to slow Salgado down by chopping away at his legs.
Beast tries a head kick but it misses.
Salgado tried to counter with a leg kick but Beast avoided it.
Salgado misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Beast misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Beast gets a takedown into half guard.

Beast is trying to work for a kimura but Salgado is defending well.

Beast is looking for a kimura but Salgado is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Beast to get the leverage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Beast is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Za Beast showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Salgado's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Beast drives through with a takedown into guard.

Salgado is working an open guard so Beast takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Salgado scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Za Beast is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Beast tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Beast misses with a head kick.
Rogerio Batista Salgado is winning the standup battle so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salgado thows a body kick. Beast tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Salgado throws a nice outside leg kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Salgado enables Beast to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Salgado manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Salgado is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Beast dives into side control.

Beast has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Beast looking to score a takedown here. Salgado is defending well but Beast drives through and ends up in Salgado's guard.
Salgado looking for a sweep. Not yet Salgado, not yet.
Salgado is trying to control the position but Beast postures up.

Beast stands and steps away. Salgado gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Beast closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Beast works to advance to full mount. Salgado defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Beast is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Salgado has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Salgado!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Beast wants to sweep here but Salgado controlling him for the moment.

Beast had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Salgado defends it easily.

Beast working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Salgado doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Salgado manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Beast looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rogerio Batista Salgado has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Beast seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Salgado wants to get up but he can't break Beast's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Beast looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Salgado tries to stand but Beast is controlling from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Salgado has gone for a leg lock! Beast slips out almost immediately though and dives into Salgado's guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
Za Beast comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Beast winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
