Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Morton (ranked 4906 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Briscoe (ranked 7071 p4p, 0 weight class). Briscoe has chosen Venom as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Al Briscoe! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Briscoe sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A shot to the liver by Briscoe. Beautiful body shot. Morton on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Morton has taken the fight to the clinch.
Morton goes for a takedown in the clinch but Briscoe prevents it.
Briscoe gets a trip takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morton is staying active underneath Briscoe, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Morton is trying to maintain the position but Briscoe is very close to passing his half guard. Briscoe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morton trying to control from the bottom.
Morton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Briscoe content to stall in guard here. Morton looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Morton is trying to keep Briscoe in close.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Briscoe looking to pass the guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nice takedown defense from Briscoe. No joy for Morton on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Morton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Morton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Briscoe is fending him off so far but Morton persists. Nope, Briscoe circles away and we're back to standing. Morton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Briscoe sprawls well. Briscoe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Morton gets slowly back to his feet. Briscoe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Morton half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Briscoe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morton doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Morton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Briscoe's guard. Morton wants to control from the top but Briscoe keeps moving. Briscoe looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Briscoe wants to get back to his feet but Morton is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Morton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Morton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Morton pushing down on Briscoe's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Briscoe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Morton wants to take a breather but Briscoe is having none of it. Morton wants to work for an arm triangle but Briscoe is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nice strikes from Morton there. Morton trying to mount his opponent but Briscoe defends it. Morton is figuring out what he wants to do next. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Briscoe is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Briscoe dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Morton has a takedown stuffed. Morton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. No luck for Morton with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Morton. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Briscoe fails to land with a series of punches.
Chris Morton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Briscoe lands a jab to Morton's midsection. Morton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Briscoe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Briscoe. Briscoe lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Briscoe lands with a good body shot. Briscoe leaves Morton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Briscoe is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Briscoe punishes Morton's body with a nice straight punch. Briscoe lands a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briscoe connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Morton momentarily.
Morton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Briscoe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Briscoe misses with a two punch combination.
Morton closes the distance and pushes Briscoe back into the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Briscoe has hold of one of Morton's legs. Morton is fighting the takedown attempt but Briscoe gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Morton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Briscoe controls from within his opponent's guard. Let's hope that Briscoe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briscoe wants to control from the top but Morton keeps moving. Morton has his feet on Briscoe's thighs here. He's pushed Briscoe off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Briscoe screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
