PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Slice (ranked 4891 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Dauph (ranked 4427 p4p, 0 weight class). Slice comes to the cage accompanied by Samurai. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Dauph!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dauph moves in looking to clinch but Slice pushes him off.

Slice drives through and clinches with Dauph against the cage.
Slice looking to throw knees to the head but Dauph is blocking nicely.
The referee calls for Dauph to work.
Dauph gets underhooks to prevent Slice's takedown attempt.

Slice breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dauph tries to clinch up.
Slice shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dauph as he jumps to the side.
Dauph with the counter takedown but Slice avoids it easily.
Dauph shoots in and drives through. Slice sprawls well.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Slice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dauph gets back to half guard.
Slice tries to pass to full mount but Dauph defends it.
Dauph wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slice lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dauph is trying to maintain the position but Slice is very close to passing his half guard.
Slice is trying to control. Dauph wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Slice is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Slice is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Dauph has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slice is working away from the top position though.
Dauph tries to get to full guard but Slice has control of the leg.
Slice not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Slice is looking to take a break and control but Dauph is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slice scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Slice working the head and body with strikes.
Slice is controlling the pace.
Slice seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dauph does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Dauph is controlling Slice's trapped leg to prevent Slice from advancing to side control.
Slice sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dauph defending well though.

Dauph has one foot on Slice's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Slice and Dauph are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Slice throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Dauph into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Slice knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
