Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uri Romanov (ranked 5110 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Mendez (ranked 5216 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Uri Romanov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Raul Mendez ! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez wants to clinch up but Romanov keeps it at a distance. Mendez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mendez tries to clinch but Romanov moves out of range. Romanov appears to be looking for a big counter. Mendez misses with a hook. Romanov ducked under it nicely. Romanov avoids the head kick by Mendez .
Romanov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. A head kick misses from Romanov. Romanov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mendez 's guard. Romanov sitting in guard here, content to control. Mendez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romanov wanted to stand there but Mendez had control of the position. Mendez looking for a sweep. Not yet Mendez , not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romanov works a leg free and moves into half guard. Romanov is controlling the pace.
Mendez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mendez tries to get to full guard but Romanov has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Romanov stalling. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mendez desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mendez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mendez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Mendez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Romanov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mendez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romanov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Romanov pushes Mendez up against the cage in a clinch. Mendez 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Romanov clinches up with Mendez and pushes him back against the cage. Mendez throws a head punch that misses. Romanov decides to pull guard. Mendez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Romanov's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Romanov holds on and takes a little breather. Romanov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mendez defends it easily. Mendez trying to control but Romanov is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Mendez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Romanov wants to sweep here but Mendez controlling him for the moment. Mendez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mendez trying to control but Romanov is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mendez wants to pass the guard but Romanov is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Uri Romanov will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mendez tries to clinch but Romanov is having none of it. As Mendez looks to move away, Romanov throws a big counter combo but Mendez just gets out of the way. Mendez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Romanov quickly recovers to half guard. Romanov is looking to control Mendez 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Romanov avoid being mounted? Romanov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mendez 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mendez 's back! Romanov controlling from the back. Uri Romanov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Romanov gets his hands free as Mendez looks to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romanov looking for the choke from the back. Mendez wants to control his opponent's hands but Romanov gets his hands free. Romanov has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romanov tightening his grip on Mendez , looking for the choke. Mendez just trying to survive but Romanov is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Romanov looking to break Mendez 's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mendez remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Romanov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! You can see the frustration on Mendez 's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Romanov sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Mendez taps out!
