Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Techno Viking!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado misses with a takedown attempt
and Viking counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Heitor Machado has been cut.
Viking throws a lazy right hand but Machado sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Machado fails with a takedown attempt.
Machado bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Viking is trying to escape the position but Machado is controlling the position.
Machado is looking to take a break and control but Viking is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machado thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Machado is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Viking knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Machado is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Viking has escaped the position, nice work there.
Machado goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Viking rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Machado's guard! Nice work there by Viking!

Machado is trying to control the position but Viking postures up.
Machado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Machado looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Viking has picked Machado up and slammed him! Machado can't keep hold of the triangle and Viking manages to pass to side control!
Machado is trying to get back to half guard.
Viking has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Champion Factory. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
The referee asks Viking politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Viking prefers to stall for the moment though.
Viking stands up and beckons Machado to his feet.
Viking lands a big right hand that sends Machado crashing to the mat! Viking stays standing though and waves Machado back to his feet!
Machado is rocked!
Heitor Machado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Machado tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Viking defends well and Machado ends up having to push Viking into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heitor Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Machado sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Viking fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Viking thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Machado if he has to take too many more of those.
Machado is breathing heavily.
Machado fails with the takedown
and Viking makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Machado really felt that one!
Viking drops Machado with a huge uppercut! Machado drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Viking is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Techno Viking! Techno Viking retains his super heavyweight title!
