Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Eldridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eugene Kalivas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Eugene Kalivas enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Eldridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eugene Kalivas!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalivas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Eldridge.

Eldridge closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Eldridge lands in his opponent's guard.
Eldridge passes into half guard.
Eldridge is pressing down on Kalivas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kalivas is holding on for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kalivas sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Eldridge would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Eldridge is fighting to break Kalivas's control of his arms but Kalivas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kalivas seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Eldridge wants to pass the guard but Kalivas is keeping the position.

Kalivas tries to clinch but Eldridge is having none of it.
Eldridge stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kalivas.

Kalivas pushes Eldridge away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Eldridge gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Eldridge won't allow Kalivas to get back to his feet.
Eldridge is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Michael Eldridge just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Kalivas throws a nice looking combination but Eldridge bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Some bone on bone action there as Kalivas checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Eldridge bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kalivas is not content to let Eldridge control the position.
Kalivas is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Eldridge is controlling him well.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Eldridge, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
