Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demi Achilles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dirk Lansdowne!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lansdowne moves out of range of the strikes.

Lansdowne has managed to clinch.

Lansdowne wants the takedown. Achilles is fighting it off but Lansdowne persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Achilles's guard against the cage.
Lansdowne postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Lansdowne cracks Achilles with a solid left hand.

Lansdowne got a little sloppy there for a moment and Achilles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lansdowne has managed to get both his arms back between Achilles's legs - danger averted.
Lansdowne won't allow Achilles to sweep him here.
Lansdowne lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lansdowne is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Lansdowne slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Achilles is looking for a triangle but Lansdowne pushes his legs off easily.

Lansdowne makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lansdowne connects with a couple of short punches.

Lansdowne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Achilles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lansdowne postures up and lands a big shot to Achilles's brow.
Lansdowne keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Achilles's head.

Achilles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lansdowne is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Lansdowne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Achilles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lansdowne is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Lansdowne keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Achilles's head.

Lansdowne tries to free his leg and advance position but Achilles is retaining full guard.

Achilles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lansdowne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Achilles has his foot on Lansdowne's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lansdowne works his way back into a safe position though.

Achilles can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lansdowne controls the pace.

Achilles is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lansdowne is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like Lansdowne might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Lansdowne postures up and lands a big shot to Achilles's brow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lansdowne working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Achilles's head.

Achilles has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Lansdowne should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Achilles has tightened it up now! Lansdowne should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
