And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ares Olympus!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olympus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Naude.

Ares Olympus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Olympus scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Naude will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Olympus appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Olympus comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Naude misses with a hook
and Olympus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Naude walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Naude gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Olympus.

Olympus throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Naude stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Olympus fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Olympus misses with a series of wild punches.

Naude takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Olympus throws a nice looking combination but Naude bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Olympus rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Naude moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Olympus misses with a few strikes there.

Naude takes the fight into the clinch.
Naude tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Olympus has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Naude manages to break the clinch.
Naude closes this distance looking for a takedown but Olympus circles away.
Olympus is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Naude is breathing heavily.
Olympus goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Naude takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Naude clinches up with Olympus and pushes him back against the cage.

Naude pulls guard successfully.

Naude pushes Olympus off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ares Olympus dominated that round.
That's time! Naude's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Olympus scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nice uppercut lands for Olympus. That snapped Naude's head back.

Naude darts in and clinches Olympus up against the cage.
Olympus tries to break the clinch but Naude is controlling the position.
Olympus looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Naude jumps guard and drags Olympus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Olympus is looking to stand up but Naude won't let him.
Naude has control of Olympus's left arm, preventing Olympus from doing any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Naude tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Olympus dips to his left and cracks Naude with an uppercut!
Olympus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Naude throws a right and a left that Olympus avoids nicely.
Olympus tests Naude's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Naude tries to score a power double leg takedown but Olympus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Naude somewhat.

Naude will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Naude closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Naude drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Olympus gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Naude. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Olympus lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Naude backs up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Naude shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Olympus defends it nicely.
Olympus thuds a left hand into Naude's body.
Olympus scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Naude looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Olympus's jab looks to have found its range, popping Naude under the eye.
Ares Olympus seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Olympus scores with a sloppy right hand. Naude should have avoided that one.
Naude takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Naude gets cracked there but stands up to it.


Naude is rocked!

Olympus lands a big right hand that sends Naude crashing to the mat! Olympus stays standing though and waves Naude back to his feet!
Oh Naude is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Naude fails with the takedown
and Olympus counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
