Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Konichiwa Jempsa (ranked 2188 p4p, 247 weight class) and Axel Stefano (ranked 2406 p4p, 270 weight class). Axel Stefano will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Konichiwa Jempsa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Axel Stefano! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stefano fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stefano getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Jempsa slips a straight right by Stefano. Jempsa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stefano sprawls well initially but Jempsa persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jempsa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Stefano pushes Jempsa off looking to stand but Jempsa dives back in and keeps control.
Jempsa slows the pace down in half guard. Jempsa frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jempsa cracks Stefano with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jempsa landing strikes from the mount and Stefano is in trouble! Jempsa raining down hammerfists from mount. Stefano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jempsa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jempsa breaks from Stefano's wrist control and lands an elbow. Jempsa in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Stefano is rocked! Jempsa sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Stefano is still in real trouble! Can Jempsa finish him? Stefano seems to have recovered his senses. Stefano wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Jempsa lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
