Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, KJ Foster!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns avoids the body shot from Foster.
It looked like Johns was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Foster.
Johns avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A quick step to the side and Johns tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Foster tries to clinch but Johns moves out of range.
Johns lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Foster tries to score with a low kick but Johns moves his leg out of the way.
Johns jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Foster tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Johns to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like KJ Foster has been cut.
Johns closes the distance and pushes Foster back into the cage.
Foster throws a head punch that misses.
Foster tries to throw a body punch but Johns avoids it by throwing Foster back against the cage.
A body shot lands from Johns.
Johns lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foster with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Johns avoiding damage as Foster throws knees to the body.
Foster misses with a hook from the clinch.
Foster throws an elbow that misses.
Foster working aggressively here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johns managing to block the knees to the body from Foster.
Johns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Foster tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johns was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Foster moves to clinch but Johns breaks away
and Johns cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Foster has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Johns.
Johns lands a big right hand that sends Foster crashing to the mat! Johns stays standing though and waves Foster back to his feet!
Foster is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Foster closes the distance but Johns moves to the side
and Johns counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Foster is still on wobbly legs! Can Johns finish him?
Foster looks winded!
Johns is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Foster hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Don Johns!
