Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Lambton (ranked 675 p4p, 103 weight class) and Xavier Merlin (ranked 2795 p4p, 363 weight class). Lambton has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lambton misses with a straight left.
A slow jab from Lambton misses its intended target.
Lambton misses with a left hand
and Merlin counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Lambton tries to keep at a distance but Merlin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lambton goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lambton prevents a takedown attempt there.
Merlin looking for a takedown.
Lambton tries to work over Merlin's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Merlin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Merlin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lambton counters with a nice right hand that sends Merlin toppling to the canvas! Merlin scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Lambton finish him?!
Merlin is rocked!
George Lambton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Merlin.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Merlin misses with a takedown attempt
and Lambton rattles Merlin with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Merlin tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Lambton dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Merlin stiff and motionless on the mat!
