Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredrigo Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Fredrigo Ruas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
May shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. May showed some decent athleticism there.
Ruas throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Ruas scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but May manages to mount him!

May swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ruas is now in May's guard. A big mistake from May there, giving up the dominant position!
May had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ruas is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. May Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ruas's back instead.
Ruas has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
What can Ruas do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
