Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uri Romanov (ranked 3737 p4p, 329 weight class) and Raul Mendez (ranked 6651 p4p, 0 weight class). Raul Mendez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Raul Mendez ! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romanov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mendez to the mat! Mendez manages to get full guard. Mendez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Romanov manages to pass to side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mendez can do anything to dispel that myth. Romanov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Romanov trying to control the pace. Mendez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendez has hold of Romanov's hands but Romanov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mendez wants to control but Romanov is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Romanov trying to pass the guard but Mendez defending well. Mendez wants to get back to his feet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Mendez trying to hold on to Romanov's head to control him but Romanov postures up.

Romanov is looking for the choke from the back position but Mendez is controlling his hands well. Romanov really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mendez . Mendez goes for a double leg but Romanov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Romanov continues to drive forward. Oooooooooooh, not good. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Romanov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Romanov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Mendez drives through with a takedown into Romanov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mendez wanted to stand there but Romanov had control of the position. Romanov is working Mendez over with some ground and pound from side control. Romanov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mendez keeps working. Romanov is really dominating this fight. Good exchange - Mendez coming out on top. Romanov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mendez as he jumps to the side. Mendez throws a push kick but Romanov slaps the foot to one side. Romanov throws a big counter combination but Mendez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Mendez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Romanov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mendez is in Romanov's guard. Mendez trying to control but Romanov is working from the bottom. Mendez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Romanov is proving hard to escape from. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romanov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mendez is one step ahead there. Romanov throws a couple of heel strikes.

Mendez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Mendez gets caught napping as Romanov dives in and scores a takedown. Mendez manages to retain guard. Romanov pushes down on Mendez 's leg and manages to get into half guard. Romanov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mendez looks like he's trying to stand up.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Romanov feints and as Mendez raises his hands in defense, Romanov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mendez is wriggling around but Romanov manages to pass to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Raul Mendez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Romanov has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
