Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Norris (ranked 22991 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Irvin (ranked 7656 p4p, 573 weight class). Paul Irvin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Norris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Irvin! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Donatello Bradman.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Irvin throws a series of punches but Norris moves out of range. Norris seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Norris lands with a kick to the temple. Irvin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Irvin displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

It looks like Chuck Norris has been cut. Irvin misses with a two punch combination.
Norris appears to be looking for a big counter. Irvin throws a combination that misses and Norris counters with a nice leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Irvin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Irvin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Irvin wants to clinch up but Norris keeps it at a distance.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Norris does no damage. Norris missing with a left hand there. Irvin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A punch combination from Irvin misses. Irvin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Irvin tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Norris counters with a nice uppercut. Norris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Irvin tries to close the distance and clinch but Norris swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Irvin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Norris went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. A kick lands to the mid section there for Norris.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Norris throws a leg kick that misses. And Irvin tries to counter it with a takedown but Norris pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Norris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Irvin sprawls well initially but Norris persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Irvin wants to control but Norris is keeping busy and won't allow it. Irvin wants to get back to full guard. Norris throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Irvin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Norris pulls his head out easily.
Norris decides to stand up. Norris throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Irvin looks to land a combination but Norris avoids it well. Irvin throws an off balance right hand
and Norris counters with a straight right hand. Norris looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Some wild striking there from Irvin.

Chuck Norris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Norris scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Irvin takes one to the side of the head.

and Norris counters with a lovely straight right hand! Norris is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Irvin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Irvin throws a body kick that misses and Norris counters with a lovely straight right hand! Norris scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Danga de danga de dang - Irvin scores with a four punch combination! Norris scores with a slapping inside leg kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Irvin misses with the body kick and Norris makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. A big right from Irvin misses. Norris tries to counter by clinching up but Irvin breaks away and moves out of range. Norris lands with a kick to the temple. Irvin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Norris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Irvin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A nice inside leg kick there by Norris. That's going to slow Irvin down. Norris misses with a jab, cross combination.
Norris wants to land a leg kick but Irvin is out of range. Irvin with the counter takedown but Norris avoids it easily. Irvin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Norris lands with a slapping head kick. Norris throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Irvin. Irvin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Irvin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Norris. Norris obviously looking to wear him down.

As Irvin tries to get set, Norris tries to push him back and clinch up but Irvin manages to avoid the attempt.

and Norris counters with a two punch combo. A combination from Irvin does no damage. And Norris counters with a quick kick to the body but Irvin blocks it. Irvin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Norris throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Norris dodges the punch combination from Irvin.
Norris is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Irvin. Irvin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Norris makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Norris scoring well with a low kick there.
Irvin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Norris closes the distance and pushes Irvin back into the cage. Irvin jumps guard but Norris turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Irvin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Norris to keep the fight standing. Norris leaning against his opponent.

Chuck Norris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Irvin.
Norris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Irvin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Norris manages to avoid it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Norris thuds his right hand into Irvin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Irvin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Norris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Norris fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Irvin. Norris misses with a two punch combination.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Irvin misses with a double jab
and Norris counters with a nice uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! Chuck Norris showed his dominance in that final round. Well Norris has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
