Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lesnar (ranked 25229 p4p, 513 weight class) and Christian Zimmerman (ranked 5185 p4p, 402 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Zimmerman!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lesnar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lesnar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Zimmerman wants to control from the top but Lesnar keeps moving.

Lesnar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lesnar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zimmerman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lesnar.

Lesnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zimmerman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Zimmerman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Lesnar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lesnar is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Lesnar is working for a submission of some sort.
Lesnar is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Zimmerman cracks Lesnar with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Zimmerman uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Lesnar closes the distance and clinches.

Zimmerman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lesnar is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Zimmerman to the mat. Zimmerman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Lesnar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lesnar tries to get out of the position.
Lesnar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Lesnar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Zimmerman passes Lesnar's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Lesnar is looking for a sweep. Zimmerman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Zimmerman is looking to pass Lesnar's guard but actually Lesnar recovers to full guard.

Zimmerman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Zimmerman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lesnar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Christian Zimmerman.
I think Lesnar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
