Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Tong Po (ranked 25080 p4p, 555 weight class) and Takeru Ishii (ranked 24159 p4p, 532 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tong Po!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takeru Ishii!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishii moves away from the strike by Po.
Ishii works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Ishii tests Po's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ishii tries to close the distance and clinch up but Po swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ishii cracks Po with an open hand slap.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ishii. That's going to slow Po down.
Ishii buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The fighters circling - Po throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ishii misses with a straight right.
Ishii wants to clinch up but Po keeps it at a distance.
Ishii feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Po's calf.
Ishii will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ishii doesn't manage to clinch there - Po circles away.
Po swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Takeru Ishii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Po sets himself, and Ishii steps forward looking for the clinch! Po avoids it this time.
Po looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Ishii lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Po at a distance.
Ishii feints and then cracks Po's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Po down.
Po is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ishii lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A little feinted left hand from Po on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Po tried to score with a low kick but Ishii checks it.
Ishii connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Po takes the fight into the clinch.
Ishii creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Po's defenses.
It looks like Tong Po has been cut.

Ishii swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Po stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Ishii lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Takeru Ishii dominated that round.

Ishii has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Po throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ishii appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Po throws a right and a left that Ishii avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ishii looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ishii. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Po bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Po throws a hook but Ishii avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A very excited looking Tong Po made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
