Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sith Rebel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Ouellet! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooooh!!! Ouellet has knocked Rebel down with a huge combo! Ouellet steps away and waves a wobbly Rebel back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Sith Rebel has been cut. Ouellet throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rebel. Rebel attempts a counter takedown but Ouellet avoids it well and moves away. Ouellet looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rebel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ouellet pinned against the cage. Ouellet gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ouellet fails to land with a series of punches.
Ouellet misses with a wild combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ouellet fails to land with a series of punches.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ouellet!
A combination from Ouellet does no damage. Rebel blocks a jab. Rebel changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ouellet changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rebel tries to avoid it but Ouellet manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rebel to the ground. Rebel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rebel half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Ouellet swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rebel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ouellet won't be happy with that. Rebel creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Rebel working the ground and pound. Ouellet throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Ouellet clobbers Rebel with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rebel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rebel working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Ouellet wants to get back to his feet. Rebel scoring with punches and elbows. Rebel lands a nice forearm strike. Rebel lands a decent elbow from side control. Rebel works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Ouellet is rocked! Ouellet looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rebel cracks Ouellet with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Rebel immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Ouellet is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Rebel!
