Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Griggs (ranked 5639 p4p, 552 weight class) and Weston Hodkiewicz (ranked 3795 p4p, 448 weight class). Hodkiewicz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big Pimpin'. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodkiewicz looks for a takedown but Griggs sprawls well.
Hodkiewicz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
It looked like Griggs was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Hodkiewicz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Griggs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hodkiewicz falls off balance throwing a combination
and Griggs counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Griggs with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hodkiewicz throws a head kick but Griggs moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hodkiewicz has his takedown stuffed
and Griggs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Frankie Griggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Weston Hodkiewicz.

Griggs cracks Hodkiewicz with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hodkiewicz looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Griggs finish him?

Are you kidding me?! Griggs ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Hodkiewicz clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
