Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Corey De Swardt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nash Meckley! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Swardt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. De Swardt closes the distance and pushes Meckley back into the cage. De Swardt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from De Swardt. Meckley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Meckley blocks a leg kick. De Swardt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Meckley pushes De Swardt up against the cage in a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Meckley. De Swardt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Oooooh!!! Meckley has knocked De Swardt down with a huge combo! Meckley steps away and waves a wobbly De Swardt back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
De Swardt is rocked!
It looks like Corey De Swardt has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. De Swardt has taken the fight to the clinch.
Oh De Swardt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! De Swardt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
De Swardt seems to have got his legs back now. A left and a right from Meckley both land. Nice combination. Nice takedown defense from Meckley. No joy for De Swardt on that attempt. Meckley is looking to clinch. Meckley drops De Swardt with a straight left! Oh this is bad for De Swardt! Meckley dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nash Meckley! Nash Meckley took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
