Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Exotic (ranked 4482 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nico Bake (ranked 4328 p4p, 454 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Nico Bake enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Exotic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nico Bake!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Exotic dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bake. That did some damage!
Bake fails with the takedown
and Bake takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Bake avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bake misses the body punch

and Exotic counters by moving into the clinch.

Bake decides to pull guard.

Bake has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Exotic is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bake.
Bake tries to bench press Exotic off him but Exotic keeps the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bake wants to get back to his feet but Exotic drags him back down.
Exotic in side control, throwing shots but Bake defends.
You can see the frustration on Bake's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bake is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Exotic to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Exotic shrugs it off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Exotic gets back to half guard.

Exotic tries to kick Bake off but Bake keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Exotic makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Exotic.
Exotic is trying to keep Bake in close.
Exotic is looking to stand up but Bake isn't so interested in that idea.

Bake is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bake wants to get up but he can't break Exotic's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bake content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Exotic trying to keep a closed guard but Bake is proving a slippery customer.

Bake tries to free his leg and advance position but Exotic is retaining full guard.

Bake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Exotic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bake has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Exotic wants to stand up but Bake is controlling him.
Bake stands up over Exotic, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Exotic manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bake manages to get himself to full guard.

Exotic looking to ground and pound but Bake is blocking nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bake can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bake is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Exotic sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Bake tries to hold on but Exotic postures up.

Exotic throws some wild stikes that Bake manages to avoid easily.

Bake is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Exotic prevents Bake from getting the reversal.
Bake keeps trying to improve his position.
Bake sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Bake is looking for a sweep. Exotic is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bake wants to get back to full guard but Exotic has mounted him!
Exotic throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bake because Exotic loaded up on that one.
Bake avoids a strike by Exotic and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Exotic's guard! Fantastic escape!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Exotic will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Bake closes this distance looking for a takedown but Exotic circles away.
It looked like Exotic was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Exotic throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bake tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Exotic shoots in for a takedown but Bake shows good takedown defense.
Exotic shoots in but no luck this time.
Exotic tries for a takedown but Bake sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Exotic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bake shoots in looking for a takedown but Exotic manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bake's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bake displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Exotic.

Bake is looking to cinch up a triangle. Exotic throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bake's body to avoid the submission. Bake has instead reached around Exotic's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bake arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Nico Bake!
