Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buffalo Marley (ranked 259 p4p, 38 weight class) and Hendrik Vermeulen (ranked 423 p4p, 60 weight class). Marley comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to Jamrock. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buffalo Marley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hendrik Vermeulen! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marley just misses with a punch to the body.
Vermeulen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Vermeulen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Marley.

Buffalo Marley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vermeulen walks into a stiff left hand from Marley. Marley clobbers Vermeulen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Vermeulen lands with an overhand left. Marley lands a nice hook to Vermeulen's body. Vermeulen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Marley lands with an overhand left. Marley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Marley slips under a jab from Vermeulen. Marley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vermeulen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vermeulen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marley throws a leg kick and Vermeulen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Marley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vermeulen. Marley swings for the body but Vermeulen moves out of range.
Vermeulen lands a jab to Marley's midsection. Marley misses with a straight right. A low kick from Marley misses letting Vermeulen counter with a right hand. Vermeulen lands with a hook. Marley tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Marley changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Marley connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Marley misses the jab. Vermeulen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Marley. Vermeulen slips a straight right by Marley. Good standup being displayed there by Marley as he connects with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marley forces Vermeulen back against the cage and clinches. Vermeulen lands a shot to the body. Marley working aggressively here.

Marley scores with an uppercut up the middle. Vermeulen avoids the elbow strike from Marley, against the cage.
Vermeulen tries to work over Marley's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A right hand to the body from Vermeulen.
Marley pushes Vermeulen back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Vermeulen lands a right hand. Marley's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Vermeulen. Vermeulen misses with a body punch.
Vermeulen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Marley throws a body punch but Vermeulen moves out of range. Marley wants to clinch but Vermeulen slips to the side and Vermeulen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vermeulen connects with a looping right hand.
It looks like Buffalo Marley has been cut. Vermeulen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marley. Vermeulen has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Marley throws a leg kick letting Vermeulen counter with a right hand.
Marley is rocked! Marley throws a body punch but Vermeulen moves out of range. Marley throws a combination that misses and Vermeulen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Marley misses with the body kick and Vermeulen scores with a counter punch that sends Marley to the canvas! Vermeulen smells blood - he's punishing Marley with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Marley has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hendrik Vermeulen! Hendrik Vermeulen decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
