These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaxon Hiatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derick Muise!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiatt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hiatt dives in and grabs Muise's left leg, looking for a takedown. Muise pushes down on Hiatt's head and hops out.
Hiatt walks into a jab.


It looks like Jaxon Hiatt has been cut.
Muise stuffs the takedown attempt from Hiatt. Hiatt gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaxon Hiatt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
An inside leg kick lands from Hiatt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hiatt moves out of range of the strikes.
Hiatt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hiatt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Muise ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hiatt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hiatt seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and Muise counters with a straight right hand.
Jaxon Hiatt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A swing and a miss from Muise.
Hiatt tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Muise manages to circle out of the way.

and Muise cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hiatt is breathing heavily.
Hiatt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Muise manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jab by Muise.
Hiatt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Muise avoids it really well and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Muise connects with a crisp jab.
Muise avoids the head kick by Hiatt.
Hiatt tries for a takedown but Muise circles away easily
and Hiatt takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hiatt is aggressively charging in as Muise backs up avoiding any damage. Muise tosses out a jab and Hiatt runs right into it face first! Hiatt is out cold! Muise dropped down on all fours and is barking in Hiatt's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Derick Muise!
Derick Muise decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
