Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Larkin (ranked 6215 p4p, 562 weight class) and Beam Scotty (ranked 2805 p4p, 337 weight class). Beam Scotty is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Larkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beam Scotty!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Larkin shoots in and bounces Scotty off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Larkin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Larkin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Scotty works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Larkin is looking to pass into half guard but Scotty pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Scotty is in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Scotty not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Scotty slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee asks Scotty politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Scotty prefers to stall for the moment though.
Scotty wants to stand but Larkin is controlling his arm.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Scotty tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Larkin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Larkin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Scotty manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Scotty holds on and takes a little breather.
Larkin throws an elbow that misses. Scotty uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Larkin's guard. Nice move by Scotty!

Scotty passes Larkin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Let's hope that Scotty has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Beam Scotty will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Larkin feints and as Scotty raises his hands in defense, Larkin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Scotty's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Scotty wants to stand but Larkin has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Scotty content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Scotty tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Larkin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scotty lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like Shane Larkin has been cut.

Scotty moves into the clinch successfully.
Scotty lands with a light punch inside.

Scotty digs a right hand underneath Larkin's ribcage. Larkin let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Scotty lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Larkin is trying to drag Scotty to the mat but Scotty just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Scotty lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Larkin backwards.

A nice left hand lands by Scotty.
Larkin's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!


Larkin is rocked!

Oh Larkin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A quick uppercut on the inside from Scotty.
Scotty creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Larkin with a big uppercut! Larkin tries to clinch up but Scotty pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Larkin to the mat! Larkin covers up and Scotty unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Beam Scotty!
After winning the bout, Beam Scotty thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
