Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Blake Green (ranked 63 p4p, 12 weight class) and Manny Puno (ranked 127 p4p, 18 weight class). Green kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sugar Rush. Manny Puno is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green connects with a high kick.
Green throws a poor cross that misses
and Puno counters with a nice double leg into side control. Green won't be happy with that.
Puno misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Puno seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Puno working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Green will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Puno changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Green tries to avoid it but Puno manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Green to the ground. Green escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Puno looks to land a left hand but Green moved out of range nicely.
Blake Green is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Green is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Green lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Puno dives in for a single leg takedown but Green sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Blake Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manny Puno.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Green counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Puno shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Green as he jumps to the side.
