The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murhaa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fortier moves away.
Murhaa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fortier.
Fortier on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The crowd cheers as Fortier lands an impressive looking overhand right. Murhaa doesn't seem phased though.
It looks like Mike Murhaa has been cut.
Murhaa throws a hook but Fortier blocks it.
Fortier jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Fortier keeps the fight on the outside.
Fortier misses the jab.
Fortier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murhaa.
Murhaa scores with a nice head shot.
Fortier swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Murhaa is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Murhaa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Murhaa has a couple of punches blocked by Fortier.
Murhaa tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Murhaa throws a punch but it's blocked by Fortier.
Fortier breaks from the clinch.
Murhaa tries to clinch but Fortier moves out of range.

We've been informed that Murhaa has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Fortier uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murhaa.

Fortier throws a monster overhand right that drops Murhaa! Fortier follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

A relieved looking Samson Fortier thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
