Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vlakan Targa (ranked 1718 p4p, 237 weight class) and Drizontay Wilder (ranked 2214 p4p, 301 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Vlakan Targa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drizontay Wilder!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilder misses with a looping left.
Targa changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Wilder throws out a loose jab but Targa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Targa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wilder.
Wilder fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nice uppercut there from Wilder.
Donk. Wilder catches Targa right on the button with a cross.

Targa looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Targa looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Targa working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Targa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wilder manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Targa has Wilder in his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Targa is on top in guard.

Targa is pushing down on Wilder's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wilder is fighting to maintain full guard but Targa has managed to sneak the leg through.

Targa is looking for a kimura but Wilder is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Targa to get the leverage.
Targa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wilder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Targa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but I would say that Vlakan Targa will probably get the nod.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Targa dives in for a single leg takedown but Wilder sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wilder throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Targa sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Targa blocks a jab.
Targa tries to counter with a takedown but Wilder is quick to defend against it.

Wilder might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Targa takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wilder lands a lovely overhand right.
Wilder catches Targa with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Targa darts in looking for a takedown but Wilder gets double underhooks and turns Targa into the cage.

Targa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Wilder sneaks out the side door and pushes Targa away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Targa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wilder does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Targa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wilder defends it well.

Targa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wilder is just riding it out for now. Targa eventually gives up the hold.

Targa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Targa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wilder is not content to let Targa control the position.

Wilder is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Targa's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Targa! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Wilder has tapped! This one is allllll over!
