The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kiepski rushes Asik and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Asik is trying to break the clinch but Kiepski is controlling him.
Asik is working for takedown but Kiepski is calmly controlling the position for now.

Kiepski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Waldek Kiepski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Asik darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Asik looks to land a strike but Kiepski avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Asik trying to control the position from guard on top but Kiepski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Asik with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Kiepski instigates a clinch.
Asik wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kiepski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kiepski closes the distance and clinches.

Kiepski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kiepski jabs Asik to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Asik tries to clinch but Kiepski moves out of range.

Asik fails to pull guard.

Kiepski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Asik finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Kiepski's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Asik falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
