Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jalaluddin Aziz (ranked 5888 p4p, 134 weight class) and Mark Wright Phillps (ranked 7778 p4p, 0 weight class). Aziz comes into the arena with Dalshar Project - Afghan Rastaman blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aziz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wright Phillps at a distance.
Aziz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wright Phillps, pushing him back against the cage.
Aziz lands a hook to the side of the head.

Aziz wants the takedown. Wright Phillps is fighting it off but Aziz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wright Phillps's guard against the cage.
Aziz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Aziz drops back looking for a leg! Wright Phillps is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wright Phillps manages to kick Aziz off! Aziz jumps back into Wright Phillps's guard.
Wright Phillps tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Aziz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wright Phillps manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Aziz has Wright Phillps in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jalaluddin Aziz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Aziz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Aziz has hold of one of Wright Phillps's legs. Wright Phillps is fighting the takedown attempt but Aziz gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Wright Phillps is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wright Phillps really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aziz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Aziz has control of Wright Phillps's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wright Phillps regains control of the situation pretty easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Aziz is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Wright Phillps goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Aziz!
