Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Petrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaq Champlain!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champlain throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Petrov was covering up waiting for the punch and Champlain finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Petrov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Champlain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Champlain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Champlain throwing strikes from guard but Petrov blocks nicely.
Champlain has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Champlain slips nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petrov is looking to counter punch.
Fedor Petrov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaq Champlain.
Champlain shoots in and bounces Petrov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Champlain is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Petrov looking for a guillotine here but Champlain defends easily.
Petrov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Champlain on the ground.

Petrov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Petrov wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Champlain manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Champlain wants to control but Petrov is keeping him busy.

Petrov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Champlain pulls his head out easily.
Champlain is trying to control the action in half guard but Petrov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Champlain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Champlain tries to pass the half guard into mount. Petrov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Champlain keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Petrov wants to control but Champlain is keeping busy.
Champlain is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Petrov scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Champlain manages to mount him!
Champlain stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Petrov connects with a nice looking jab.
Petrov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Champlain changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shaq Champlain dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Champlain closes this distance looking for a takedown but Petrov circles away.
Champlain takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Shaq Champlain has been cut.
Petrov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Champlain goes for a double leg but Petrov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Petrov continues to drive forward.
Champlain fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Petrov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Petrov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Champlain can do to turn this around?
Champlain is breathing heavily.

Petrov lands a jab to Champlain's midsection.
Petrov cracks Champlain with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Champlain looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Petrov finish him?
Champlain is rocked!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Petrov here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Petrov circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Champlain tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Petrov wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Fedor Petrov!
