Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Sepulveda (ranked 2389 p4p, 3680 weight class) and Mini Stipe (ranked 227 p4p, 322 weight class). Sepulveda kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lady Gaga - Alejandro. Alejandro Sepulveda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.

Sepulveda darts in trying to clinch
and Stipe counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sepulveda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stipe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Stipe working his ground and pound in the gym.
Sepulveda is pressing down on Stipe's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Stipe lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Stipe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Stipe stands up over Sepulveda, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sepulveda had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stipe defends it easily.

Sepulveda throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Stipe escapes and throws Sepulveda's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Stipe tries to move to mount but Sepulveda blocks the move with his legs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sepulveda is trying to control Stipe's posture but Stipe avoids it.
Stipe lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Stipe is putting a hurting on Sepulveda here, landing some big shots from side control.

Sepulveda is trying to maintain the position but Stipe is very close to passing his half guard.
Stipe lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Stipe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sepulveda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Sepulveda is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stipe scores with a couple of nice shots.
Stipe wants to pass to mount but Sepulveda is defending the position.
Stipe prevents Sepulveda from improving his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stipe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Mini Stipe dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Stipe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sepulveda, pushing him back against the cage.

Sepulveda jumps guard but Stipe stands there with Sepulveda around his waist. Sepulveda gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sepulveda.

Stipe throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sepulvedas head.
Sepulveda is trying to pull guard but Stipe turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Sepulveda throws a punch but it's blocked by Stipe.
Sepulveda has a couple of punches blocked by Stipe.
Stipe gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sepulveda.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alejandro Sepulveda. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sepulveda gets through Stipe's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Stipe tries to work over Sepulveda's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Sepulveda gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Stipe has his foot on Sepulveda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sepulveda works his way back into a safe position though.
Stipe can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sepulveda controls the pace.
Sepulveda won't allow Stipe to sweep him here.

Stipe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sepulveda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stipe is tightening it up a little... Sepulveda has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sepulveda reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sepulveda taps out! Nice BJJ there by Stipe!
