Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Lafayette (ranked 2316 p4p, 295 weight class) and Jon Snitch (ranked 2792 p4p, 347 weight class). Snitch has chosen I Wanna Rock as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Vicente Lafayette!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lafayette gets caught napping as Snitch dives in and scores a takedown. Lafayette manages to retain guard.
Snitch looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
It looks like Snitch might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Snitch avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Snitch content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snitch is continuing to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Snitch scores with a decent looking hook.
Snitch tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lafayette was well out of range. Poor timing from Snitch.

Lafayette drives through and clinches with Snitch against the cage.
Lafayette is trying to pull guard but Snitch turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Lafayette tries to pull guard but Snitch holds him up against the cage and eventually Lafayette drops back down to his feet.
Snitch avoiding damage.
Snitch's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The crowd are getting on Snitch's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Snitch is trying to drag Lafayette to the mat but Lafayette just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Snitch is working for takedown but Lafayette is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lafayette is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Snitch to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vicente Lafayette. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Snitch is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Snitch effectively controlling the action here.
Lafayette jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Snitch walks away with a smile on his face. Lafayette gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Snitch shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lafayette's guard.

Lafayette is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lafayette working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Snitch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Snitch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Snitch stalling.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jon Snitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snitch will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lafayette throws a counter high kick but Snitch was just alert enough to avoid it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Snitch looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No joy there for Lafayette, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Snitch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Snitch is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Snitch is trying to control. Lafayette wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Snitch slows the pace down in half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Snitch throws a jab when Lafayette was well out of range.
Lafayette throws a quick counter kick to the body but Snitch avoids it.
Snitch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lafayette.
Snitch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Snitch has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lafayette is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Snitch throws a shot from downtown. Lafayette moves away and avoids it.
Lafayette tries to clinch

and Snitch counters with a takedown into side control.
Lafayette wants to get back to his feet but Snitch is dominant here and he's now got Lafayette's back!
Snitch tries to keep control of the position but Lafayette is staying busy.
Snitch slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Snitch doesn't have the hooks in and Lafayette manages to turn into his guard.
Snitch wants to sweep but no luck.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lafayette tries to lock up and control but Snitch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Snitch wants to control the pace but Lafayette is squirming around nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lafayette is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Lafayette is looking to improve his position but Snitch isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Snitch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lafayette throws a right hand that Snitch ducks under and follows up with a left that Snitch also avoids with ease.

Snitch tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Snitch effectively controlling the action here.

Lafayette throws a hook but Snitch blocks it.

Snitch dives in and grabs Lafayette's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lafayette pushes down on Snitch's head and hops out.
Lafayette was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Snitch scores with a nice strike.

Snitch moves into the clinch.

Lafayette is trying to pull guard but Snitch has him pressed against the cage.

Snitch has clasped his hands together around Lafayette's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Lafayette trying to control but Snitch postures up.
Jon Snitch is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Lafayette controlling the position well.
Lafayette wants to control but Snitch is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Still in half guard, Snitch seems content to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Snitch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lafayette napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Snitch moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Vicente Lafayette has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Let's hope that Snitch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lafayette is looking for a sweep.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Snitch.
Lafayette manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Snitch sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lafayette is staying active underneath Snitch, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Snitch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Snitch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
