Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Skowronek (ranked 4482 p4p, 469 weight class) and Don Trump (ranked 3113 p4p, 0 weight class). Piotr Skowronek could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Don Trump's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Piotr Skowronek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Trump!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skowronek's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Skowronek duly obliges.
Trump closes this distance looking for a takedown but Skowronek circles away.
Skowronek swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Trump counters with a takedown into side control.
Trump looks up at the clock and then as Skowronek takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Trump smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Skowronek takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Skowronek stops Trump from passing to mount.
Trump working the ground and pound but Skowronek is defending the strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Skowronek's face as Trump controls the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Skowronek is trying to escape the position but Trump is controlling the position.

Skowronek is trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trump working the body and head with strikes.
Trump misses with the ground and pound.
Skowronek is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Trump has just dragged him back down to the mat.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Trump lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Skowronek is breathing heavily.

Trump is trying to get an arm triangle but Skowronek is defending well.
Trump moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Skowronek tries to sprawl but Trump drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Trump thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Trump content to control rather than advance.
Trump not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like Trump might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Trump takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Trump shoots in looking for a takedown but Skowronek manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trump's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Skowronek throws a nice looking combination but Trump bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Skowronek throws a right and a left that both miss.

Trump drives through with a takedown into Skowronek's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Trump is pushing down on Skowronek's leg trying to pass to half guard. Skowronek is fighting to maintain full guard but Trump has managed to sneak the leg through.
Trump seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Skowronek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trump on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Trump fails with a takedown attempt.
Skowronek falls off balance throwing a combination

and Trump counters with a single leg into guard. Skowronek didn't expect that.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Trump in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Skowronek can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Trump controls the pace.
Trump is in close to Skowronek's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Trump controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Trump cracks Skowronek with a solid left hand.
Trump is stalling in the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Trump stands and throws Skowronek's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Skowronek taking punishment in the form of punches.
Don Trump has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Trump has knee on belly and moves into mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Trump showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Trump shoots in but Skowronek avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Skowronek lands a jab-cross combination.
A punch combination from Skowronek misses.
Skowronek misses with a few strikes there.
Trump lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Trump misses with an attempted mid kick.
Skowronek falls off balance throwing a combination

so Trump counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Trump has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Trump sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Skowronek's guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Trump lands a nice short elbow.
Trump passes the guard and advances to mount!

Trump with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trump tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Trump's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Trump is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Skowronek can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Trump controlling the pace for now.

Trump jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Skowronek manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Trump is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Skowronek is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Trump cracks Skowronek with a big elbow.
Trump content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

More stalling from Trump.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Trump looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Trump drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Trump jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Don Trump comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Trump winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
