Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedrinho Matador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Miir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedrinho Matador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Miir!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matador rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miir moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Matador looks to land a combination but Miir avoids it well.
Miir scores with a jab. Matador acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Miir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Miir looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Miir trying to control the action but Matador is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miir takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Miir is trying to control the action in half guard but Matador is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Miir is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Matador still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Matador has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Matador decides to stand back up.

Matador shoots in and bounces Miir off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Matador decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Miir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Matador works over Miir's head and body with a nice combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Miir looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

so Matador counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pedrinho Matador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Miir.

Miir looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Matador has picked Miir up and slammed him! Miir can't keep hold of the triangle and Matador manages to pass to side control!

Matador decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Matador closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Matador lands in his opponent's guard.
Miir can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Matador controls the pace.

Matador would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Matador is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Matador controls from within his opponent's guard.
Miir is trying to keep Matador in close.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matador has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Miir is proving hard to escape from.

Miir shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Matador pushes Miir off looking to stand but Miir dives back in and keeps control.
Miir tries to pass to full mount but Matador defends it.

Miir keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Matador is staying active underneath Miir, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Miir might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Matador kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Miir is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Matador.
Matador fails with a takedown attempt.
Matador goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Miir keeps the fight on the outside.
Matador misses with a head kick.
Matador throws a head kick but Miir moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Miir as Matador shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedrinho Matador. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Matador tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pedrinho Matador seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matador misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Matador drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Miir manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Matador manages to get himself to full guard.

Miir not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Miir wants to control from the top but Matador keeps moving.
Miir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matador swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Miir doesn't manage to clinch there - Matador circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matador closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Miir wants to control but Matador is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Matador seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Matador blocks the strikes from Miir.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Matador stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Miir to get to his feet.
Matador connects with a solid leg kick.
Miir fails with the takedown
and Matador counters with a thumping low kick.
Matador lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Pedrinho Matador is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Matador lands with a kick to the temple. Miir shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Matador throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miir takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Miir avoids the head kick by Matador.
Matador misses with a head kick.
Matador lands with a slapping head kick.

Matador circles away from the clinch attempt.
Miir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Matador but Matador pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pedrinho Matador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Miir.
Matador misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Miir on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Matador. Matador obviously looking to wear him down.

Matador shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Matador showed some decent athleticism there.
Well, if Matador is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Miir is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well Matador has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
