Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Magnus V Karlson (ranked 4456 p4p, 413 weight class) and TwoPiece Soda (ranked 25177 p4p, 575 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magnus V Karlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, TwoPiece Soda!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlson shoots in for a takedown but Soda shows good takedown defense.

Soda gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Karlson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Karlson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Soda is trying to keep Karlson in close.

Still in half guard, Karlson seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karlson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Soda wants to control but Karlson is keeping busy.

Karlson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Soda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karlson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Karlson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Soda keeps working.
Karlson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Soda is looking for a sweep. Karlson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Karlson is pressing down on Soda's thigh, looking to free his foot. Soda is holding on for now.

Karlson is taking a breather. Soda says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Karlson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Soda with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Karlson drops an elbow to the side of Soda's head.

Soda is trying is best to control the position here.
Soda has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Karlson is working away from the top position though.
Still in half guard, Karlson seems content to control.
Karlson winds up and cracks Soda with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Karlson is thwarting Soda's attempts to control the position.
Soda has hold of Karlson's hands but Karlson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Karlson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Karlson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karlson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Soda wants to control but Karlson is keeping busy.
Karlson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Soda wants to get back to full guard.
Soda is still trying to improve position.
Karlson is taking a breather. Soda says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Magnus V Karlson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Soda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Karlson.
Soda wants to clinch up but Karlson keeps it at a distance.

Soda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Karlson seems keen to control Soda's posture.
Soda wants to control from the top but Karlson keeps moving.

Karlson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Soda rolls with it to try and escape but Karlson cranks on the arm and Soda is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Magnus V Karlson!
A very excited looking Magnus V Karlson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
