Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cesar De Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jone Jones!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. De Costa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones moves to clinch but De Costa breaks away
and De Costa counters with a nice body kick.
Jones closes the distance but De Costa moves to the side
and De Costa counters with a slapping leg kick.
Jones on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
De Costa fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but De Costa swats him away and circles back towards the center.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A thudding body kick lands there by De Costa!
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones misses with a leg kick
and De Costa counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jones's knee momentarily.
De Costa lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jones tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
De Costa just misses with a punch to the body.
A solid body kick from De Costa.
Jones looks winded!
De Costa lands a big head kick that sends Jones tumbling to the mat! De Costa takes a step backwards and waves Jones back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Jones is rocked!
Jones walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! De Costa swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Cesar De Costa!
A very excited looking Cesar De Costa rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
