Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Halk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halk misses with an uppercut. Kane clinches. Halk is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Halk tries for a takedown but Kane manages to get underhooks.

Halk not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Halk won't allow Kane to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kane working for a triangle but Halk defends it easily.

Halk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kane on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Halk is one step ahead there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Halk misses with a wild combination.
Halk shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense. Halk is breathing heavily. Kane scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kane wants to control but Halk is keeping him busy. Kane tries to stand and escape but Halk is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Halk's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kane wants to stand but Halk has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Halk is trying to get back to full guard. Kane performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kane thows a huge punch but Halk dodges it nicely.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Halk will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hulk Halk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Halk's waist but Halk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kane off to one side. No luck for Halk with that takedown attempt. Kane shoots in and bounces Halk off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kane preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Kane dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kane. Hulk Halk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Halk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Halk shoots in but no luck this time. Kane closes the distance and clinches. Kane pulls guard. Kane looking for a sweep. Not yet Kane, not yet. Kane wants to stand and escape but Halk is having none of it. Kane manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Halk manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kane is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Halk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Halk wants to stand but Kane is controlling the position. Kane sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kane prevents Halk from getting back to his feet. Halk wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kane is now in half guard. Kane slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Despite being in the dominant position, Patrick Kane just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Halk circles away. Halk scores with a jab to the head.
Kane fails with the takedown. Halk shoots in and drives through. Kane sprawls well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Halk throws out a loose jab but Kane uses good head movement to avoid it. Kane fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hulk Halk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kane. Halk wants to clinch but Kane slips to the side and Kane counters with a slapping leg kick. Kane fails to land the takedown. Kane moves forwards but Halk connects with a nice, crisp jab. Halk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Halk gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Halk walks away with a smile on his face. Kane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Halk misses with a double jab.
Kane rushes Halk and presses him up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Nice sprawl there from Halk as Kane shoots in. Kane tries for a takedown but Halk circles away easily and Halk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Halk wants to clinch and Kane counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kane looking to stall.
Kane throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Halk blocks it with crossed arms. Halk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kane has him pressed against the cage. Kane can't get the takedown.
Hulk Halk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kane. Halk drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Halk wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane jumps guard but Halk stands there with Kane around his waist. Kane gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kane has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Halk is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Halk is trying to break free. Halk has had enough of the clinch but Kane keeps him there for the moment. Kane jumps guard but Halk stands there with Kane around his waist. Kane gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kane shoots in and drives through. Halk sprawls well. Halk checks a low kick from Kane. Halk tries to bum rush Kane with a series of wild strikes but Kane uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Halk as he avoids it easily. Halk misses with a hook. Halk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Halk tries to close the distance and clinch but Kane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Halk tries to clinch but Kane moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Halk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kane fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Halk has his takedown stuffed and Kane counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kane. Halk misses with some punches.
Kane's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Halk ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Kane fails in his attempt to clinch. Halk has a takedown stuffed. Kane shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kane walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Hulk Halk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Halk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Halk wants to stand and escape but Kane is having none of it. Kane throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Halk keeping moving, preventing Kane from controlling successfully. Hulk Halk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Patrick Kane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Halk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hulk Halk. I think Kane has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
