Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Halk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Halk misses with an uppercut.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Halk shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kane thows a huge punch but Halk dodges it nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Halk will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hulk Halk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Halk's waist but Halk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kane off to one side.

Kane is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Halk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Despite being in the dominant position, Patrick Kane just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Halk throws out a loose jab but Kane uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Halk walks away with a smile on his face. Kane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kane rushes Halk and presses him up against the cage.

Patrick Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Halk tries to bum rush Kane with a series of wild strikes but Kane uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Halk as he avoids it easily.

Halk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Halk tries to close the distance and clinch but Kane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kane fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Kane counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kane.

Kane's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Halk ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Kane walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hulk Halk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Halk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Patrick Kane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Halk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hulk Halk.
I think Kane has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
