Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rollo Galvarino (ranked 3296 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Sousa (ranked 2434 p4p, 0 weight class). Sousa has chosen Beat It as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rollo Galvarino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Joao Sousa!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Galvarino throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sousa on the side of the head.
Galvarino darts in and clinches Sousa up against the cage.

Sousa swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sousa has Galvarino pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sousa pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Galvarino tumbling to the mat - Sousa dives into Galvarino's guard.
Sousa lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Galvarino definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Sousa controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sousa has an Americana. Galvarino didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sousa is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sousa hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Joao Sousa!
Joao Sousa spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
