Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Kurt Angular (ranked 5823 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toby Flenderson (ranked 5155 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Kurt Angular! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Toby Flenderson! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Angular moves into the clinch. Flenderson pulls guard. Angular is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Angular trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Angular is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Angular's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flenderson can't keep his opponent in guard - Angular advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Angular wants to work for an arm triangle but Flenderson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Angular is taking a breather. Flenderson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Flenderson gets full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Flenderson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Flenderson seems a little lost for a moment, as Angular dominates the positioning. Angular wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flenderson keeps working. Angular happy to just control the position for now. Flenderson stops Angular from passing to mount.

Angular swings around for an armbar but Flenderson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Angular's guard. Not yet Angular, not yet.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Angular is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Flenderson defends well. Angular wants to sweep but no luck. Angular keeping moving, preventing Flenderson from controlling successfully. Angular seems keen to control Flenderson's posture. Angular working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flenderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flenderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Flenderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Angular swivels though and keeps the full guard. Angular is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Flenderson is sitting in close to Angular's body. Angular has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Flenderson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Flenderson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Angular.
