The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Rowlands gets caught napping as Eckson dives in and scores a takedown. Rowlands manages to retain guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Rowlands (0) vs (2) Eckson Rowlands tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rowlands is working hard here to advance position. Eckson wants to control from the top but Rowlands keeps moving. Rowlands is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rowlands is looking for a triangle here but Eckson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Rowlands seems a little lost for a moment, as Eckson dominates the positioning. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rowlands tries to bench press Eckson off him but Eckson keeps the position. Rowlands's coaches at Top Gun Academy have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Rowlands on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rowlands tries to get out of the position. Eckson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Eckson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Rowlands screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Eckson! Nice submission victory there!
