Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Varian (ranked 4542 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Teddy (ranked 5033 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Varian could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ted Teddy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Varian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ted Teddy! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Teddy dives in and grabs Varian's left leg, looking for a takedown. Varian pushes down on Teddy's head and hops out. Varian throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Teddy counters with a single leg into guard. Varian didn't expect that. Teddy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Varian manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Teddy manages to get himself to full guard.
Varian thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Varian wants to stand but Teddy is controlling his posture from full guard. Teddy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Varian gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Teddy lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Varian wants to control the position but Teddy says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Teddy prevents Varian from improving his position. Teddy wants to get back to his feet.
Teddy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varian is looking to improve his position.
Varian looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Varian is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Teddy is controlling the pace.

Teddy is looking for a kimura but Varian is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Teddy to get the leverage. Teddy prevents Varian from improving his position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Teddy controlling the action here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Teddy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Teddy tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Varian fails to land with a series of punches.
Teddy feints the counter takedown. Teddy throws a series of strikes that have Varian backpedaling.
Teddy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Varian's half guard. Varian kicks off Teddy and gets to his feet. Teddy rushes Varian and presses him up against the cage. Teddy tries to pull guard but Varian holds him up against the cage and eventually Teddy drops back down to his feet.
Kevin Varian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Teddy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Teddy tightens his grip and picks Varian up, before dumping him to the ground. Varian manages to land in guard. Varian is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Teddy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Teddy as Varian shoots in. Teddy stuffs the takedown attempt from Varian. Varian gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Teddy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Teddy wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Varian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Varian tries to clinch but Teddy is having none of it. Varian tries to score a power double leg takedown but Teddy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Varian somewhat. Varian throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Teddy's waist but Teddy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Varian off to one side. Teddy slaps away a takedown attempt from Varian, before circling back to the center of the mat. Varian throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Teddy is defended easily by Varian. Varian swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Teddy takes the fight into the clinch. Teddy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Varian throws a good cross that connects.
A big left from Teddy misses. Varian closes the distance but Teddy moves to the side and Teddy counters with a series of strikes. Varian will be more careful next time no doubt.
It looks like Kevin Varian has been cut. Horrible takedown attempt by Varian or perhaps it was just good defense by Teddy, which made it look bad. Teddy with the counter takedown but Varian avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Teddy gets the takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Teddy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Teddy wants to control but Varian is keeping him busy. Varian is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Teddy has just dragged him back down to the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Teddy tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ted Teddy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Kevin Varian's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Varian fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Teddy avoids it really well and circles away. Teddy drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Varian defends it well. Varian shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Teddy but Teddy pushes him off and we're back to square one. Teddy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Varian shoots and misses and Teddy counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Varian! Varian bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Varian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Varian is looking to clinch. Teddy gets a clinch. Teddy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Teddy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Varian fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Teddy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Varian manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Varian instigates a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Teddy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Varian avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Varian drops down looking for an ankle pick but Teddy pulls his leg out and moves away.

Varian fails with a takedown attempt. Varian shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Teddy as he jumps to the side. Despite the aggression on Teddy's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Varian misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Teddy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Varian is trying to escape back to his feet but Teddy uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Teddy wants to stand but Varian is controlling his arm. Teddy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Varian keeps working. Teddy tries to stand but Varian is controlling his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. I wouldn't like to be where Varian is right now. Teddy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Varian is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Teddy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Varian keeps working.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ted Teddy. Well Teddy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
