Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pasha Pedikov (ranked 24677 p4p, 696 weight class) and Wukong Zanh Zu (ranked 25260 p4p, 751 weight class). The key to victory for Pasha Pedikov has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pasha Pedikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wukong Zanh Zu! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pedikov tries to clinch but Zanh Zu is having none of it. Pedikov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Zanh Zu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Zanh Zu controlling Pedikov's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zanh Zu wants to sweep but no luck. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Pedikov has his takedown stuffed and Zanh Zu counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Zanh Zu breaks from the clinch.
Zanh Zu closes the distance and clinches. Zanh Zu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Zanh Zu with a lazy takedown attempt and Pedikov counters with a one-two to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pedikov scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Zanh Zu dives in for a single leg takedown but Pedikov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Zanh Zu is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pedikov shoots in but Zanh Zu avoids the takedown attempt easily. Pedikov looks to land a combination but Zanh Zu avoids it well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zanh Zu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pedikov avoids it really well and circles away. Pasha Pedikov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wukong Zanh Zu. A head kick misses from Zanh Zu. Zanh Zu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zanh Zu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pedikov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Zanh Zu pulls his head out easily. Pedikov wants to sweep but Zanh Zu has passed to side control! Zanh Zu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Zanh Zu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pedikov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. You can see the frustration on Pedikov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pedikov sneaks back into half guard. Zanh Zu seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pedikov trying to get back to full guard but Zanh Zu takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pasha Pedikov will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Pedikov shoots in but no luck this time. No luck for Pedikov with that takedown attempt. Zanh Zu walks into a left hand. Pedikov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Zanh Zu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Zanh Zu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Zanh Zu grinds an elbow into Pedikov's temple. Zanh Zu looks up at the clock and then as Pedikov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Zanh Zu smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zanh Zu lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Pedikov taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pedikov wants to control but Zanh Zu postures up. Zanh Zu trying to control the action but Pedikov is working from the bottom. Zanh Zu taking a breather here. Pedikov is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Zanh Zu misses with an attempted head punch from side control. You can see the frustration on Pedikov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pedikov prevents Zanh Zu from improving position. Pedikov struggling a bit here. Pedikov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Pedikov wants to improve his position but Zanh Zu is controlling well.
Zanh Zu is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Pedikov manages to get to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zanh Zu wants to stand but Pedikov is controlling his posture from full guard. Zanh Zu cracks Pedikov with a solid left hand. Zanh Zu content to stall in guard here. Zanh Zu makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Zanh Zu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pedikov is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Pedikov lands with a slapping head kick. Zanh Zu stuffs the takedown. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Zanh Zu! But no joy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pasha Pedikov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pedikov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pedikov wants it to stay on the feet. Pedikov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Zanh Zu wants to control from the top but Pedikov keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Zanh Zu advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wukong Zanh Zu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Zanh Zu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pedikov moves away. Pedikov jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Pasha Pedikov is winning the standup battle so far. Pedikov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zanh Zu avoids it really well and circles away. Zanh Zu tries to counter by closing the distance. Pedikov goes for a double leg but Zanh Zu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Zanh Zu continues to drive forward. Pedikov shoots in but Zanh Zu avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pasha Pedikov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zanh Zu takes a kick to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pedikov checks a leg kick. Pedikov tries to bum rush Zanh Zu with a series of wild strikes but Zanh Zu uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Zanh Zu pushes Pedikov up against the cage in a clinch.

Zanh Zu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pedikov uses from the top position. Zanh Zu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Zanh Zu is trying to control. Pedikov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zanh Zu tries to stand and escape but Pedikov actually recovers to full guard. Pedikov has a closed guard, preventing Zanh Zu from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zanh Zu looking to pass the guard. Zanh Zu won't allow Pedikov to get back to his feet. Pedikov keeping moving, preventing Zanh Zu from controlling successfully. Zanh Zu sitting in guard, not really doing much. Zanh Zu stopping the sweep attempt from Pedikov. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zanh Zu trying to control but Pedikov is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Zanh Zu stuffs the takedown attempt from Pedikov. Pedikov gets slowly back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Pedikov.
Zanh Zu is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Pedikov avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Zanh Zu fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Zanh Zu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pedikov sprawls well. Pedikov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zanh Zu gets slowly back to his feet. Pedikov shoots in for a double leg but Zanh Zu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Pedikov or perhaps it was just good defense by Zanh Zu, which made it look bad. Zanh Zu throws a counter combo. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pedikov is looking to clinch. Zanh Zu clinches up against the cage. Zanh Zu gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pedikov.
Zanh Zu displaying some good clinch control by pressing Pedikov up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Zanh Zu gets control of Pedikov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Zanh Zu will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Wukong Zanh Zu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Zanh Zu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
