Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Clinton (ranked 1979 p4p, 260 weight class) and Nuro Higati (ranked 3682 p4p, 440 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Clinton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nuro Higati! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clinton clinches up against the cage. Higati has clasped his hands together around Clinton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Higati sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Clinton is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Clinton manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Clinton is figuring out what he wants to do next. Clinton is trying to control. Higati wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Clinton is thwarting Higati's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Higati is in trouble now - Clinton has advanced to mount! Clinton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Higati is looking to escape. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Higati can do anything to dispel that myth. Higati stops Clinton from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Higati really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Clinton controlling the pace for now. Clinton has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Higati sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Higati really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clinton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Clinton wants to free his trapped foot but Higati is holding on for dear life with his legs. Clinton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Higati wants to control but Clinton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Clinton works his foot free and advances to mount. Clinton tries to control but Higati wriggling away. Clinton working for a submission but Higati is keeping him at bay.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clinton controlling from mount. Clinton trying to control but he's not successful this time. Higati is trying to escape the mount.
Clinton fails to take his opponent's back. Clinton looking to control but Higati is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Higati is desperately trying to improve his position but Clinton has a good base and remains in mount. Clinton working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Clinton tries to control but Higati wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Higati is in all sorts of trouble here.
Clinton moves to the back position. Higati tries to escape but Clinton has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Clinton working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Higati is doing well to defend. Clinton seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Higati is forced to tap and this one is over!
