Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Li Wei Liu (ranked 4959 p4p, 126 weight class) and Clarence Hoost (ranked 5603 p4p, 179 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Clarence Hoost!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Liu moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromHoost.
Hoost shoots in and drives through. Liu sprawls well.
Liu throws a head kick but Hoost moves out of range.
Hoost shapes to counter with a head kick.
Liu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Liu tries a head kick but it misses.

Liu looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Hoost is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Liu trying to control but Hoost is working from the bottom.
Hoost looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liu is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoost is pulling down on Liu's head. It's preventing any offense from Liu, at least for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoost tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hoost pulls Liu in close to his closed guard and prevents Liu from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hoost wants to sweep here but Liu controlling him for the moment.
Hoost controlling the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hoost wants to sweep but no luck.
Liu looking to pass the guard.

Liu drops back looking for a leg! Hoost is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hoost manages to kick Liu off! Liu jumps back into Hoost's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Liu wants to control from the top but Hoost keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hoost bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Liu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hoost's half guard.
Hoost avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Liu.

Liu is working for a kimura but Hoost is defending it quite comfortably.

Liu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hoost defends it well.
Liu is breathing heavily.
Hoost is positioning himself well to prevent Liu advancing to mount.
Liu prevents Hoost from improving his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hoost moves into full guard.
Liu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hoost is pulling down on Liu's head to control his posture.
Liu is looking to work some ground and pound but Hoost has wrist control.
Hoost managing to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoost is continuing to stall.
Hoost's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've been informed that Hoost has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Liu trying to control but Hoost is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hoost is pulling down on Liu's head to control his posture.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A head kick from Hoost lands but Liu takes it in his stride.
Hoost takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Clarence Hoost has been cut.

Liu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hoost is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Liu not landing any meaningful shots this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Li Wei Liu showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Liu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
