Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom Lezer (ranked 4763 p4p, 475 weight class) and Andrew Field (ranked 6960 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tom Lezer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Field!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Field gets a takedown into half guard.

Field postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lezer to stand up.
Field misses with a takedown attempt - Lezer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lezer appears to be looking for a big counter.

Lezer takes the fight into the clinch.
Field tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lezer is trying to maintain a safe position but Field gets an underhook and turns Lezer into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Field drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tom Lezer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Field.

Lezer drags the fight down to the ground.
Lezer pulls Field in to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lezer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Field is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lezer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Field is controlling him.
Lezer is adopting a defensive guard.
Field trying to control the position from guard on top but Lezer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Field landing some decent shots from guard.
Field stopping the sweep attempt from Lezer.

Field postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lezer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Field, into his guard.

Lezer is pushing down on Field's leg trying to pass to half guard. Field is fighting to maintain full guard but Lezer has managed to sneak the leg through.
Field moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Field trying to keep a closed guard but Lezer is proving a slippery customer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lezer stopping the sweep attempt from Field.
Lezer works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Field wants to get back to full guard.
Lezer controlling the pace.
Lezer continues to stall.
Field is pressing down on Lezer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Field not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lezer trying to control the position from guard on top but Field is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Field gets a takedown into half guard.

Field is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lezer is just riding it out for now. Field eventually gives up the hold.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Field is keen to just control but Lezer is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tom Lezer will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Lezer darts in and clinches Field up against the cage.

Lezer jumps guard and drags Field to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lezer keeping moving, preventing Field from controlling successfully.
Lezer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Lezer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Field sitting in guard here, content to control.

Lezer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Field defends it easily.
Field throws a big right hand that misses.

Tom Lezer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Field trying to control the position from guard on top but Lezer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tom Lezer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lezer gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lezer lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Lezer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Field can do to turn this around?
A body shot lands from Lezer.
Lezer tries to land knees in the clinch but Field avoids the damage to the body.

Lezer throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fields head.
Lezer with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Nice elbow from Lezer.


It looks like Andrew Field has been cut.
Field blocks an uppercut.
Lezer misses with a hook to the ribs.

Field manages to break the clinch.

Field shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lezer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lezer managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Field.
Field landing a few strikes.

Field thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Field is looking to take a break and control but Lezer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Field looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
I wouldn't like to be where Lezer is right now.
Lezer is trying to improve his position.
Field cracks Lezer with a big elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Field is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lezer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Field working the ground and pound.
Field landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Lezer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Field wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Field has hold of Lezer's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lezer tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Field cranks the arm and Lezer screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lezer, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Andrew Field!
