Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Condor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, BJ Penn. Condor has chosen Sepultura - Ratamahatta as his entrance music. BJ Penn could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pablo Condor's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn moves in looking to clinch but Condor pushes him off.
Penn tries to clinch up but Condor circles away and keeps his distance.

Penn scores a takedown into full mount!
Penn misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Condor tries to lock up and control but Penn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Penn thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Penn throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Condor regains half guard.
Condor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Condor manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Penn wants to control from the top but Condor keeps moving.

Condor seems keen to control Penn's posture.
Condor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Penn works over Condor with some ground and pound from guard.
Penn wants to control from the top but Condor keeps moving.
Penn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Condor with a lazy takedown attempt

so Penn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Condor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Penn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Penn stands up over Condor, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Condor working a defensive guard but Penn manages to pass into side control anyway.

Penn tries for a kimura but Condor is defending well.
Penn working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Condor wants to control but Penn postures up.

Penn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Condor, who protects the arm well.
Penn works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Penn swings around for an armbar but Condor sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Penn's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Condor wants to get up but he can't break Penn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Penn is trying to control the position but Condor postures up.
Penn looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Condor puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Condor throws a right hand that Penn ducks under and follows up with a left that Penn also avoids with ease.
Pablo Condor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Penn doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Condor counters with a three punch combo that has Penn backing up. Penn nods at Condor to acknowledge the strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Penn counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Penn is on top in guard.
Penn distracts Condor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Penn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Condor pinned against the cage. Condor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Penn seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Condor feints and as Penn raises his hands in defense, Condor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Penn isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Condor stacks Penn on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Condor!

Condor decides to stand back up. Condor steps back and let's Penn get back to his feet.
Condor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Condor.


It looks like BJ Penn has been cut.

Penn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Condor is looking for a sweep. Penn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Penn not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Condor tries to get to full guard but Penn has control of the leg.
Penn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Penn is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to BJ Penn.
