Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shoju Bayushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lai Yong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bayushi comes into the arena with Masta Killa blaring out of the sound system. Lai Yong has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Shoju Bayushi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shoju Bayushi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Lai Yong! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Yong. Bayushi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Bayushi looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bayushi trying to control here.
Bayushi is looking for a sweep. Yong is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bayushi is looking to control Yong's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bayushi avoid being mounted? Yong throwing shots but Bayushi is blocking nicely. Bayushi throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Bayushi is trying to control but can't.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Yong in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yong's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Yong throws and elbow that misses. Bayushi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yong's guard. Nice move by Bayushi!
That's one minute gone in the round. Yong thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Bayushi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bayushi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bayushi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bayushi postures up.
Yong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bayushi is one step ahead there. Yong throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Yong wants to sweep but no luck.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Yong fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Yong looks gassed! Bayushi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Yong tries to roll over but Bayushi keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bayushi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Yong sees it coming and defends easily. Bayushi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bayushi tries to pass to full mount but Yong defends it. Yong is looking to improve his position.
Bayushi is trying to work for a kimura but Yong is defending well.
Yong is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yong missing with punches from the bottom.
Yong regains full guard. Nicely done. Bayushi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yong swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bayushi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bayushi is tightening it up a little... Yong has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Yong reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Yong taps out! nice BJJ there by Bayushi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Shoju Bayushi!
