The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Versteeg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Versteeg lands in his opponent's guard. We've been hearing good reports from Graves's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Graves seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Versteeg tries to free his leg and advance position but Graves is retaining full guard. Versteeg is sitting in close to Graves's body. Graves has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Versteeg is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Versteeg is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Graves.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tua Graves!
