Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenichi Misahawa (ranked 6121 p4p, 611 weight class) and Paulo Gutti (ranked 5662 p4p, 582 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenichi Misahawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paulo Gutti! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gutti avoids the body shot from Misahawa.
Gutti tries to score a power double leg takedown but Misahawa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gutti somewhat. Gutti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Misahawa but Misahawa pushes him off and we're back to square one. Misahawa seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Misahawa wants to clinch up but Gutti keeps it at a distance. Gutti takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Paulo Gutti has been cut. Gutti lands a jab to the nose. Gutti is trying hard to land a takedown here. Misahawa sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Kenichi Misahawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Gutti. Misahawa throws a combination. Gutti tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Gutti rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Misahawa counters with a lovely shot to the body. We've been told by Misahawa's head coaches at Armored Fitness & Sparring that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gutti misses with a takedown and Misahawa counters by moving into the clinch. Gutti fails to pull guard.
Gutti is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Misahawa to keep the fight standing. Misahawa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Paulo Gutti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Misahawa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gutti swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jab by Misahawa. Misahawa throws a series of punches but Gutti moves out of range. Gutti avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Misahawa throws a right hand that Gutti ducks under and follows up with a left that Gutti also avoids with ease. Gutti looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Misahawa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gutti. Gutti avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gutti shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Misahawa pinned against the cage. Misahawa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gutti darts in looking for a takedown but Misahawa gets double underhooks and turns Gutti into the cage. Gutti closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Misahawa's guard. Gutti looks winded! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gutti loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Misahawa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Gutti distracts Misahawa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Gutti works over Misahawa with some ground and pound from guard. Misahawa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gutti thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Misahawa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Misahawa tries to get out of the position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gutti missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Misahawa working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gutti.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gutti throws a big right hand that misses. Gutti throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gutti scoring with some ground and pound. Gutti missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gutti wants to control from the top but Misahawa keeps moving. Gutti scoring with some ground and pound. Gutti trying to control but Misahawa is working from the bottom. Misahawa is looking to stand up but Gutti isn't so interested in that idea. Gutti postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kenichi Misahawa will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Paulo Gutti's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gutti closes the distance and clinches up with Misahawa, looking for a takedown. Gutti pushes Misahawa against the cage but Misahawa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Misahawa throws a body shot but no joy. Gutti has his takedown stuffed and Misahawa moves into the clinch. Gutti is trying to pull guard but Misahawa turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Kenichi Misahawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Gutti. Gutti drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Misahawa preventing the sweep. Misahawa content to stall in guard here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gutti is on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Misahawa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gutti throwing strikes but missing. Gutti has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Gutti jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gutti with a flurry of punches that miss. Misahawa controls Gutti momentarily but Gutti frees himself. Gutti is pushing down on Misahawa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Misahawa is fighting to maintain full guard but Gutti has managed to sneak the leg through. Gutti not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Misahawa taking some punishment here, with Gutti in his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Misahawa trying to hold on to Gutti's head to control him but Gutti postures up.
Misahawa is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gutti scores with a couple of nice shots. Gutti not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Misahawa keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Misahawa is looking to escape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gutti working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Gutti lands strikes from half guard. Gutti is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Misahawa is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
