The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jalbert misses the body punch
and Jalbert takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jalbert has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Smith moves out of range as Jalbert strikes.

Jalbert looks to land a left hand but Smith moved out of range nicely.

Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jalbert is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Jalbert throws a good cross that connects.
Jalbert lands a big uppercut and Smith crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Smith looks OK. Jalbert waves Smith back to his feet!

Smith gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Jalbert points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Smith wakes up just in time to hear Jalbert thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
